Looking to beautify your computer? Why, then here's a desktop wallpaper of Olly Moss's illustration for the cover of Where Good Ideas Come From by Steven Johnson.
Consider it an early Christmas present from us! (Don't worry, I'm sure you were planning on getting us something just as nice.) And in a variety of sizes for computers, iPhones and iPads:
1280x800 | 1280x1084 (bmp) | 1680x1050 | 1920x1200 | 2560x1440
We'd hoped to put it up a lot sooner with a short Q&A with Olly, but unfortunately he's one of the busiest men on earth and when it came down to it, he couldn't find the time to A our Qs.
I think that was the problem. Although one of the questions – about Olly's re-imaginings of classic videogames, which used Romek Marber's famous Penguin cover grid – did include an implied legal threat, so I suppose it's possible he's preemptively lawyering up.
At any rate, you can see more of Olly's brilliant work at his website. And if you'd like to know a bit more about Where Good Ideas Come From this video's a delightful place to start:
If you'd like us to do more desktop wallpapers based on our books then let us know. (And hat tip to design blog The Fox is Black, who have long been livening up our screens with their Desktop Wallpaper Project, for inspiring the idea.)
